Concrete surfaces can look and feel dry within several hours of application, but they take considerably longer to fully cure. Most fresh concrete is ready to walk on within approximately 48 hours.

However, we recommend waiting at least seven full days before driving any vehicles on your stamped concrete. Even after it has hardened enough to drive a vehicle on, it will continue its curing process for several weeks, or even months, depending on atmospheric conditions.

Stamped concrete is relatively low-maintenance.

First off, it's important to keep your surfaces free of any debris and clean them with a mild detergent, garden hose, and a soft-bristled push broom, as necessary.

Additionally, when removing ice and snow, avoid metal shovels because the blades can damage the sealing. Use hard plastic shovels instead.

Never use chloride-based deicers or salts as they can chemically degrade the surface and decrease service life. In the winter, use deicers made with calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, or potassium chloride.

Finally, you should reseal the surfaces every 2-3 years to prevent color fading and maximize longevity.

You may just have slow drains, which might just require a plumber, but you may also have sewage backing up into your home, which could mean a whole new system. Look for bright green grass near the septic tank, smell for bad odor, and listen for gurgling sounds. Then give us a call to schedule an assessment.

A septic system is usually permitted and inspected by your local permitting authority (i.e., your local health or environmental department). Contact these entities to obtain a copy of your property’s septic record drawing (the "as-built" design) and copies of the permit(s). The permit(s) may also have additional information on your system, such as the date of its installation or soil properties.
